Locations Prone to Blockage
Locations prone to blockage are identified based on past records or observations of frequent flooding during heavy rainfall, which may associate with blockages at inlets such as catchpits or gullies caused by leaves, silt, or refuse washing into drainage inlets during heavy rainstorm. Identification of these locations is essential to enable advance emergency preparedness by DSD, ensuring swift response ahead of heavy rainfall. Our emergency response teams will conduct inspections of these critical location when there is forecast for heavy rainfall by HKO. Should any blockages be detected, immediate clearance will be arranged to ensure proper functioning of the drainage system. The community is advised to avoid discarding waste near drains and to promptly report blockages. These collective efforts help maintain proper drainage function and reduce flooding risks during heavy rainfall. Locations prone to blockage (full list) are shown below:
