Enhancement Works for Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station
To cater for future development of East Kowloon, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) is carrying out enhancement works at the Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station (KTSPS), which is situated near Kwun Tong Bypass and Wai Yip Street. The enhancement works commenced in late 2017 and are scheduled for completion in end 2022. This newsletter provides the latest information on the progress of construction and related information of the project.
Our Achievements
Green Building Award 2019
Our project obtained the Merit Award under New Building Category (Projects Under Construction and / or Design – Institutional Building) in 2019. The Green Building Award is co-organized by the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). The Award aims to provide recognition to building-related projects and organisations with outstanding performance and contributions in sustainability. The judging panel highly recognised our design in merging sewage treatment facilities with leisure and educational facilities to promote the concept of “land co-use”, and commented our project has showcased how the rare land resources in our city can be better utilized. The project team will continue our effort to inject more new elements into the community.
Site Visit by the Deputy Director and Assistant Director
Our Deputy Director, Mr. Mak Ka-wai and Assistant Director / Sewage Services, Mr. Leung Wing-yuen, Walter paid much attention to this project. They inspected the site and supervised our works on the 13th December 2019.
