Key Elements
HATS Stage 1 collects and provides treatment to sewage generated from Kowloon and eastern parts of the Hong Kong Island.
The works include:
- Construction of a 23.6km sewage tunnel network
- Upgrading of 7 Preliminary Treatment Works (PTW) in Kowloon and eastern part of Hong Kong Island
- Construction of Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works (SCISTW)
- Construction of a 1.7 km long outfall tunnel and diffuser pipeline in the southwest of Stonecutters Island
