"DSD Partners" participating in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2017
12 February 2017
As in previous years, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) formed a “DSD Partners” group to participate in this year’s Marathon. Despite the limited quota, about 60 colleagues successfully registered for the event. With around 170 participants from our project consultants and contractors, a 230-strong team was formed.
In the early morning of 12 February, Mr LAM Tin Sing, Director of Water Supplies, Mr TONG Ka Hung, Director of Drainage Services, and participating representatives joined the kick-off ceremony outside the Hong Kong Central Library. After that, Mr TONG and Mr MAK Ka Wai, Deputy Director of Drainage Services, led the “DSD Partners” to the starting point at Island Eastern Corridor amidst applause and cheers. The weather was fine and extremely suitable for running. Marathoners were eager to set their new personal record, and on hearing the starting horn, set off with high morale and encouraged each other, demonstrating great sportsmanship. Our cheering team gave active support to the athletes along the way. After the race, Mr TONG greeted the runners at the Causeway Bay Sports Ground and took photos with them. DSD encourages staff members to do more exercise to strike a work-life balance. We hope that, through this annual mega event, colleagues can build up team spirit as well as enjoy and benefit from exercising.
See you all next year! |
