Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme - “Happy Valley Green Carnival”

To mark the launch of the recreational facilities recently completed under the Happy Valley Underground Stormwater Storage Scheme and opened to the public, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) joined hands with the Wan Chai District Council and the contractor, Chun Wo Construction and Engineering Company Limited (Chun Wo), in organizing the “Happy Valley Green Carnival” at the Happy Valley Recreation Ground on 5 November. Over 2,000 people enjoyed the event.
The Director of Drainage Services, Mr Edwin TONG, the Chairman of the Wan Chai District Council, Mr NG Kam-chun, and the Deputy Chairman of Chun Wo Development Holdings Limited, Mr Derrick PANG, officiated the opening ceremony of the Carnival together with the District Officer (Wan Chai), Mr Rick CHAN, and the Chief Leisure Manager (HKE) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Mr LUK Chi-kwong. Mr NG paid special tribute to the joint DSD/Chun Wo project team for their tremendous efforts in attending the needs of the public as well as dedicating care to them when arranging the construction works. He looked forward to the completion of various construction works by the project team which would bring a brand new flood-free and leisure environment to the residents of Wan Chai. |
