Two DSD Projects Won “Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2016”

28 September 2016

Two projects of Drainage Services Department (DSD), “Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works (SWHSTW) – Further Expansion Phases 1A and 1B” and “Adoption of Knowledge-based BIM for E&M Asset Management Supplemented with Mobile Technology – A Case Study in Public Sewage Pumping Facilities”, were selected as two out of the five award winners of “Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2016” on 28 September.

DSD puts efforts into driving a sustainable development in the construction industry through the innovation with BIM technology.  SWHSTW was the first large scale sewage treatment works expansion project in Hong Kong to follow a BIM approach, which BIM was adopted in the development of the detailed design, and would be used to facilitate tendering, construction supervision and future operation.

The “Adoption of Knowledge-based BIM for E&M Asset Management Supplemented with Mobile Technology” was a pilot project demonstrating how BIM technology with mobile solutions can be adopted in an in-service three-storey Ma On Shan Area 108 Sewage Pumping Station.  The study hailed an important milestone for DSD to migrate BIM into O&M.
