Singapore International Water Week 2016 cum Duty Visit

On 10 July 2016, the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works), Mr HON Chi-keung, the Director of Drainage Services, Mr Edwin TONG Ka-hung and the Deputy Director of Water Supplies, Mr WONG Chung-leung led nine government officials from the Drainage Services Department and the Water Supplies Department to visit Singapore to exchange experiences about advancement in wastewater treatment, flood prevention and preservation of water resources.  The delegation also attended the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2016.  This biennial event held from 10 July 2016 to 14 July 2016 was a global platform to share and co-create innovative water solution.    
 
Mr HON, Mr TONG and Mr WONG met with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources of Singapore, Mr CHOI Shing-kwok, to share experience and collaborate efforts to achieve synergy in addressing the water resources preservation and flood prevention problems.   
 
The delegation also met with officials from Public Utilities Board (PUB) and visited PUB’s water and sewage treatment facilities such as Marina Barrage, Changi Water Reclamation Plant, Tuaspring Desalination Plant, etc. 
 
Through the visits and attendance of the SIWW, the delegation has shared policy implementation and best practices among stakeholders from all over the world as well as appreciated the most advanced technologies in the water and wastewater industries in Singapore and other countries.
