HONG KONG STREETATHON@kowloon east 2016

10 April 2016

HONG KONG STREETATHON@kowloon east 2016” was held on 10 April. Among the participants, 40 were from the Drainage Services Department (DSD) joining the half marathon and 10 km races, while about 100 were from other works departments. Mr HON Chi Keung, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works); Mr LAM Tin Sing, Director of Water Supplies; and Mr TONG Ka Hung, Director of Drainage Services attended the event to show their staunch support. The activity was organised by RunOurCity with the route taking runners through the streets and alleys of Kowloon East to let them know more about the community, and to raise funds for the Youth Street-run Program and various charities in Kowloon East to help more people.

At about 7:30 in the morning on 10 April, all the guests and participating colleagues assembled at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal. After taking group photos, Mr TONG Ka Hung, our Director, and Mr MAK Ka Wai, our Deputy Director, led DSD runners to the starting point. Despite the heavy rain during the race, our marathoners were in high spirit and fought to the end, fully showing their sportsmanship.

DSD encourages the staff to do more exercise for work-life balance and higher team spirit. We believe that more staff can enjoy and benefit from sports through this event.
