DSD commends contractors with outstanding performance in keeping their sites clean, tidy and safe

19 April 2016

The presentation ceremony of the Construction Sites Housekeeping Award Scheme (CSHAS) (2015) organised by the Drainage Services Department (DSD) was held today (April 19) at the Leighton Hill Community Hall.  Mr Edwin TONG Ka-hung, Director of Drainage Services, and Mr MAK Ka-wai, Deputy Director of Drainage Services, presented the awards to the winning teams.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr TONG emphasised that DSD accords the highest priority to safety at work and that good housekeeping at construction sites will help prevent accidents, improve work efficiency and enhance DSD’s image.

“Everyone of us is also a member of the general public.  We should hence use our empathy when responding to the public’s concerns in order to create a win-win situation, said Mr TONG.

CSHAS was launched in 2004 with the aim of raising the housekeeping standard of DSD’s construction sites. There are three types of awards, namely the Grand Award, the Best Construction Sites Housekeeping Award and the Meritorious Award. A total of 27 awards were presented to 13 teams today in recognition of their excellent housekeeping at their construction sites, and five of them won the Best Construction Sites Housekeeping Award.
