“DSD Job Shadowing”

30 December 2015

DSD organized the third one-day DSD Job Shadowing Activity on 30 December 2015 following previous similar events in July and October 2014. With the support of Hong Kong Christian Service - Kwun Tong Happy Teens Club, 35 Secondary 4 to 6 students from Kwun Tong District joined the activity, which aims to expose young people to actual working environment, to equip them for the job markets and to encourage them to take an early start in future planning.

The event began with a welcome speech by Ir MAK Ka Wai, the Deputy Director of Drainage Services.  After a brief introduction of DSD’s work, the students were assigned to "work" in different divisions under the guidance of 24 workplace mentors, such as joining site meeting with resident engineer and assisting laboratory works.  The students showed strong interest in the operation of DSD and actively involved in the "duties" assigned by the workplace mentors.
