DSD awarded Contract No. DC/2015/01 “Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns – Ground Investigation”

The Drainage Services Department signed a $163 million contract with the Contractor Gammon Construction Limited on 27 August 2015 for the ground investigation works for the Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns project.

This contract comprises vertical, inclined and horizontal drillholes, horizontal directional coring, geophysical survey, boulder survey, rock joint mapping, groundwater monitoring, topographical survey, tree survey, utility survey, meteorological station set-up and monitoring, and associated in-situ and laboratory tests.  The works are scheduled for completion in 2017.

This contract adopts the "New Engineering Contract" (NEC) form so as to nurture partnering spirit between contracting parties, thereby enhancing cost-effectiveness and reducing risks.
