DSD awarded Agreement No. CE 56/2014(DS) “Relocation of Sham Tseng Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns – Feasibility Study”

The Drainage Services Department signed a consultancy agreement of about $10 million on 29 December 2014 with Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Limited to undertake the feasibility study for the relocation of Sham Tseng Sewage Treatment Works (SmTSTW) to caverns.

The consultancy agreement adopts “Professional Services Contract” type of the New Engineering Contract (NEC).  Its scope comprises preliminary technical and impact assessments, ground investigations, preparation of outline design, formulation of implementation strategies and programmes and carrying out public engagement exercises for the relocation of SmTSTW to caverns.

The consultancy agreement will last for about 21 months.
