The Drainage Services Department Received Media Interviews on 2 Sewage Treatment Technologies – Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) and Moving-bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR)

On 16 May 2019, Mr Vincent LEUNG Chi-to, E&M Engineer of the Electrical and Mechanical Projects Division and Ms Angela TONG Yee-mei, Engineer of the Sewerage Projects Division, were interviewed by the Hong Kong Economic Times, Ming Pao, HK01 and Ta Kung Pao on two sewage treatment technologies (Membrane Bioreactors (MBR) and Moving-bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR)).

During the interview, Mr LEUNG explained the engineering details of the large-scale adoption of MBR at the Shek Wu Hui Effluent Polishing Plant; Ms TONG explained the technology and benefits of the MBBR.
