Drainage Services Department Open Day 2019

9 January 2019

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) Open Day 2019 will be held at the Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works on 19 and 20 January 2019 (Saturday and Sunday).  With the theme of "30 Years of Groundwork, Embracing a New Age” , our well-known annual fun-filled Open Day this year is even more special.  It will be the first event to mark the 30th Anniversary of DSD and will feature DSD’s “4R”- Review of DSD’s 30 Years, River Revitalization, Rehabilitation of aging drains and sewers as well as Relocation of Shatin Sewage Treatment Works to caverns.  We are thrilled to share with you our works over the last 30 years and our continual efforts in combating and mitigating climate change, through exhibition booths, display panels and physical models.

The Open Day will be an enjoyable weekend event with thematic exhibition, guided tour, food trucks, stage and roving performance, game booths, photo-taking corners, kids fun area and parent-child planting activity.

The Open Day is organised in accordance with the “Guidebook on waste reduction for major community events” launched by the Environmental Protection Department and the Business Environment Council. To make the event more environmental friendly, please bring your own bottle and cutlery.
