DSD awarded Agreement No. CE 17/2014 (DS) “Relocation of Sai Kung Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns – Feasibility Study”

The Drainage Services Department signed a $16.3 million consultancy agreement on 29 August 2014 with Black & Veatch Hong Kong Limited for undertaking the feasibility study for relocation of Sai Kung sewage treatment works (SKSTW) to caverns.

The scope of the consultancy agreement is to carry out a detailed engineering feasibility study including relevant preliminary technical and impact assessments, ground investigations, preparation of outline design, formulation of implementation strategies, programmes, etc. for relocation of SKSTW to caverns and the associated public engagement exercises.

The consultancy agreement is expected to take about 24 months to complete.
