To celebrate the DSD 25th anniversary, DSD joined hand with Junior Achievement Hong Kong in hosting the first DSD Job Shadowing activity on 4 July 2014, aiming to helping students to understand the working environment in DSD so as to enable them to take an early start in future planning. A total of 24 numbers of Secondary 4 and 6 students coming from Hong Kong University Graduates Association College, Lai King Catholic Secondary School, Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College and Shek Lei Catholic Secondary School participated in this one-day activity.
The event began with a welcome speech by Mr. MAK Ka-wai, Deputy Director of Drainage Services. After a brief introduction of DSD’s work by our colleagues, the students were assigned to "work" in different divisions under the guidance of 14 workplace mentors. The students showed their interest in the DSD’s works and actively involved in the "duties" assigned to them by their workplace mentors.
