Staff of Electrical and Mechanical Branch of Drainage Services Department (DSD) commenced to prepare an EnMS, which followed the ISO 50001 standard promulgated by the International Organization for Standardization, at Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works (YLSTW) in September 2013 as a pilot scheme.

 

The EnMS for YLSTW was established in early 2014 and has been put into operation since 10 February 2014. After three months’ operation, a certification audit for the EnMS was conducted in June 2014 and proved that the EnMS could be adopted in sewage treatment facilities effectively. The EnMS was successfully accredited on 26 June 2014.
