DSD's new API titled “Never Discharge Wastewater into a Rainwater System” was premiered on 12 May 2014 to heighten public awareness that rainwater and wastewater are collected by two separate systems in Hong Kong, and wastewater in our rainwater system will pollute the rivers and harbour causing environmental and odour problems.

It also reminds the public to rectify any improper wastewater connections and not to dispose of wastewater into the rainwater system.
