DSD Signed Three Consultancy Agreements for Framework Contract for Rehabilitation and Construction of Sewage Rising Mains

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) today (5 May) signed three framework consultancy agreements with consultants at a Framework Tendered Total of about $27.9 million, covering consultancy services for the rehabilitation and construction of about 14km of existing sewage rising mains in Hong Kong.

At the contract signing ceremony, the Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK, highlighted that the signing of these three consultancy agreements marks an important milestone. These three consultancy agreements represent the Department's first adoption of the NEC4 Framework Contract form for works-related consultancy services, and they are also the first of its kind in Hong Kong. Through this form of contract, the Department aims to achieve four core objectives: partnership, efficiency, innovation, and flexibility, to further strengthen close collaboration between the Department and the framework consultants, foster an efficient cooperative relationship, encourage continuous innovation in the construction industry, and establish a more flexible and cost-effective procurement approach.
