24 April 2026

On 24 April 2026, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) hosted the District Officer (Yau Tsim Mong) cum Chairman of Yau Tsim Mong District Council, Mr Eric LEE, and Yau Tsim Mong District Council (DC) members to visit "Drainage Improvement Works in Tsim Sha Tsui" and pre-wet season flood prevention measures along Chatham Road South.

During the visit, DSD colleagues provided council members with a detailed briefing on how "Drainage Improvement Works in Tsim Sha Tsui" enhances the district's flood prevention capability and resilience against extreme weather. We conducted an on-site review of the project progress, and presented the advanced technologies applied in design and construction to facilitate deep drainage infrastructure works in a densely developed urban environment while minimizing disruption to the public.

Subsequently, DSD colleagues also briefed council members on the department's preparatory work for the wet season and explained on site the flood prevention and emergency response measures implemented along Chatham Road South. We also distributed flood prevention leaflets to local residents and businesses appealing to the community to keep drains clear and carry out necessary pre-wet season inspections and maintenance in order to reduce flood risks.
