The Hong Kong Flower Show 2026 – DSD's Exhibition: “Innovative Guardian of Drainage Secrets”
30 March 2026
The Hong Kong Flower Show 2026 was held from 20 to 29 March 2026 at the Victoria Park. The Drainage Services Department's (DSD) exhibition area, titled "Innovative Guardian of Drainage Secrets", was awarded the Gold Award for Unique Feature (Landscape Display).
The theme flower of this year's Flower Show is the "Stock", whose floral language symbolises the virtues of loyalty and steadfastness. It resonates perfectly with DSD's unwavering commitment to safeguarding Hong Kong through its sewage treatment and flood prevention efforts. Through imaginative landscaping, DSD showcases its daily operations, inviting the public to join a "Fragrant Journey through Hong Kong".
The exhibition area vividly demonstrates DSD's work on drainage inspection, desilting, and flood prevention carried out before and during the rainy season, alongside the innovative technologies applied in these processes. It highlights DSD's relentless pursuit of excellence in technological application, working hand in hand to build a future-ready and climate-resilient Hong Kong.

Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK Wing-cheong, JP (fifth left), Chief Engineer of Sewerage Projects Division, Ms Suki PUN Siu-kit (fourth left) and DSD's representatives received the Gold Award for Unique Feature (Landscape Display) from the organiser.

The Ching Chung Hau Po Woon Primary School, which had just won a Special Award at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in 2026 for the "BioCapture" (Youth Group) — visited the DSD's flower show booth. The Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK Wing-cheong, JP (centre), took group photo with the teachers and students.

The DSD exhibited a Crawler-type All-terrain Survey Robot "T300" at its exhibition area. The robot also achieved outstanding results at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva in 2026, winning both the Saudi Innovation Excellence Prize - Ministry of Education, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and a Gold Medal. Students from Ching Chung Hau Po Woon Primary School tried their hands at operating the Crawler-type All-terrain Survey Robot "T300" during their visit.
DSD's KOL "Drainy" guided the public on a journey to uncover the secrets of Hong Kong's drainage system.

DSD's Flower Exhibition showcased the real manhole covers of the winning designs (champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up) from the "Thematic Manhole Cover Design Competition" at the Flower Show exhibition.
The mirror reflections create an infinite floral landscape, representing the everlasting flow inside our drainage system.

The flower arch symbolises the rainwater pumped away by the "Powerful Mobile Pumping Robot".
With the manhole cover half-open, out pops Drainy, curious about the world above the underground drainage system.
