Closing Ceremony for “Safety Training for DSD's Emergency Works in Adverse Weather” jointly organized by the DSD and the Occupational Safety and Health Council

20 March 2026

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) has always attached great importance to the occupational health and safety.  To further safeguard frontline staff when carrying out emergency duties under adverse weather conditions, the DSD has partnered with the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) since December 2025 to jointly organised the "Safety Training for DSD's Emergency Works in Adverse Weather".

The training programme comprises both lectures and practical sessions.  It aims to ensure that frontline personnel fully understand the potential risks associated with working in extreme weather and are proficient in applying appropriate safety measures. By the end March 2026, over 1,600 participants have successfully completed the training.

To commemorate this important milestone, and further promote and strengthen a construction site safety culture within the industry, the DSD and OSHC held a closing ceremony on 20 March 2026.  At the ceremony, Director of Drainage Services, Mr. Ringo MOK Wing-cheong, JP, presented course completion certificates to representative trainees and encouraged frontline staff to remain vigilant and take care of their own safety at all times. The DSD will continue to work closely with the industry to enhance work safety, ensuring that every frontline worker is given maximum protection while serving the public.
