DSD won the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Corporate Award (Platinum Award) 2025-26

Organised by the Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification (HKCTC) and with full support from the Innovation and Technology Commission, the award presentation ceremony of the Testing and Certification Manpower Development Award Scheme 2025-26 (the Scheme) was held on 6 February 2026.
The Drainage Services Department is proud to announce that its Sha Tin Central Laboratory and Operation Section Laboratory have jointly won the Platinum Award for the Scheme's Testing and Certification Manpower Development Corporate Award.
In parallel, Dr MAK Wing Leung, a chemist in Sewage Treatment Division 1 of the Drainage Services Department, has won the Excellent Testing and Certification Professional Award under the Senior Professional category.
Launched in 2021 by HKCTC, this biennial Award Scheme aims to encourage testing and certification (T&C) bodies to invest in nurturing talents and recognise T&C practitioners for their tireless efforts, continuous learning and commitment to improving service levels. Indeed, it is a truly encouraging achievement for this Department to have won the award three times in succession.
Providing world-class wastewater and stormwater drainage services to Hong Kong, the Drainage Services Department has always upheld a spirit of continuous improvement, actively investing resources in training and in the enhancement of professional standards in testing and certification across its laboratories. We once again extend our heartfelt congratulations to our award-winning colleagues.

The former Chairman of the HKCTC, Professor Albert YU Cheung-hoi presented the trophy of the Excellent Testing and Certification Professional Award – Senior Professional Award to Dr MAK Wing-leung, Chemist/Sewage Treatment Division 1.
