Eastern District Council Members Visited Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel

The Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK Wing-cheong invited the District Officer (Eastern) cum Chairman of Eastern District Council, Mr Henry LAI, together with Eastern District Council (DC) members to visit Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel on 9 February 2026.

During the visit, DSD colleagues shared the Integrated Flood Management Strategy and the associated "Adaptation, Resilience and Management" measures and provided an overview of the flood prevention, sewage treatment and drainage rehabilitation works within Eastern District. DC members visited the stilling basin and the inlet shaft of the drainage tunnel, gaining a deeper understanding of the operating principles.

We also showcased the winning entries from the Thematic Manhole Cover Design Competition, including the design selected for installation in the Eastern District. We will continue to maintain close communication with DC members, listen attentively to public views and work collaboratively to build a more liveable community.
