DSD Showcases Integrated Flood Management at Carbon Neutrality & Sustainability Forum 2025

The Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK Wing-cheong, JP, attended the Carbon Neutrality & Sustainability Forum 2025 organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects on 13 December 2025. The Forum provided a valuable platform to exchange insights on resilience strategies and collaborative actions to drive Hong Kong towards a sustainable and climate-ready future. The Forum brought together the government representatives, including the Commissioner for Climate Change, experts from The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and representatives from architectural firms, engineering consultants and the power supply industry.
Mr MOK introduced DSD's Integrated Flood Management Strategy, a comprehensive and multi-pronged approach comprising measures on adaptation, resilience, and management to foster a climate-resilient city. He also introduced measures and actions taken by DSD during the Super Typhoon Ragasa in September 2025 and the extreme rainstorms that necessitated Black Rainstorm Warnings in August 2025, to demonstrate how resilience and management measures worked in concert to shield our city, minimized disruption and drove a rapid recovery for the city.
The Forum reaffirmed the collective dedication of government, academia, and industry to advancing sustainability, underscoring collaboration and innovation as vital pillars for building a climate-resilient Hong Kong.
