DSD Participated in the InnoCarnival 2025
26 October 2025
The "InnoCarnival 2025" was successfully held from 18 October to 26 October at the Hong Kong Science Park. At the event, the Drainage Services Department's exhibition booth, with the theme of "Integrated Flood Management for A Bright Future", introduced the "Integrated Flood Management Strategy" through exhibition panels, videos, exhibits, and interactive games. It showcased how innovative technologies are applied to enhance flood resilience.
The exhibits highlighted the collaborative project with the Pearl River Water Resources Research Institute (PRWRI) under the Pearl River Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China - the Flood Alert System for Tomorrow (FAST), DSD's self-developed project - the Mosaic Model Map (M³), and the AI Flood Monitoring System. These exhibits won multiple awards at the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, showcasing the Department's achievements in leveraging innovative technology to enhance flood resilience.
Members of the public could observe the "Mobile Powerful Pumping Robot" and learn about the "Integrated Flood Management Strategy" by playing the tablet game. They could also experience the "Flood Risk Evasion" virtual reality (VR) game developed by the PRWRI, which uses a first-person perspective to deepen participant’s understanding of the three key measures of the Integrated Flood Management Strategy - "Adaptation, Resilience, Management", demonstrating the Department's proactive approach to tackling the challenges of climate change.
