Central and Western District Council Members Visited Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works

On 15 January 2025, the Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK Wing-cheong led the District Officer (Central and Western) cum Chairman of Central and Western District Council, Mr David LEUNG Chee-kay, and Central and Western District Council (DC) members to visit the Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works. Mr MOK first introduced the flood prevention, sewage and rehabilitation works of the DSD within Central and Western District and shared the strategies of coping with extreme weather and the application of technology in minimising the flood risk. Afterwards, he exchanged opinions with DC members for optimising drainage facilities.
During the visit, DC members toured the control room and the green roof of the Stonecutters Island Sewage Treatment Works to learn about the sewage treatment process.
