To acknowledge outstanding civil service volunteer teams and individuals for their outstanding performance and contributions in participating in and promoting volunteer service., the Civil Service Bureau launched the "Civil Service Volunteer Commendation Scheme" in 2024. The award presentation ceremony was held on 21 November 2024.

These awards not only recognize the selfless dedication of each volunteer but also reinforce the department's values in "Commitment" and "Team Work" in building a caring and inclusive society.

Among the highlights, DSDVT was one of the volunteer teams invited to participate in a short documentary produced by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) on "Volunteering for the well-being of our community – Good stories of civil servants". The documentary shares how DSDVT volunteers stepped out of their comfort zones and learn while doing, creating a series of videos for cancer rehabilitation organizations to provide useful information for rehabilitators and their supporters. The video can be viewed on the RTHK TV 31 website via the following link. Additionally, the program will be broadcast on MTR in February 2025.
