Sha Tin District Council Visits Construction Site of the Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns project

The District Officer (Sha Tin) cum Chairman of Sha Tin District Council, Mr. YU Wai Shing, along with 31 numbers of Sha Tin District Council (STDC) members and co-opted members, visit the construction site and the Community Liaison Centre of the Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns project on 18 December 2024.

STDC members attended a briefing by the project team on the scope, progress, and innovative technologies adopted in the project at the Community Liaison Centre. Afterwards, they visited the caverns and learned about the application of various innovative and safe technologies such as the Smart Site Safety System (4S), Drilling Jumbo, Mixed Reality HoloLens, and Blasting Supervision System. These technologies accelerate project progress, enhance construction quality, and improve site safety.

The project team of Drainage Services Department also took this opportunity to exchange views with STDC members and learn more about the needs of the community, exploring ways to minimize the construction's impact on surrounding residents.
