RTHK's TV Programme “Hong Kong United” Interviewed the DSD on the “Tumbler Inspection Ball Robot”

DSD Senior Engineer, Ms Cathleen CHAN Fung-chi and Engineer, Mr Dennis HO Ka-kit introduced the Department's newly developed “Tumbler Inspection Ball (TlB) Robot” during an interview by the RTHK's TV Programme “Hong Kong United” on 10 September 2024.

Ms CHAN stated that the TIB broke through the traditional limitations of pipeline inspection. Its unique design allows it to stay upright as it sails down pipes and tunnels, even under turbulent flow conditions, making pipeline inspection more efficient and stable. Mr HO explained in detail the features and operation of the TIB and shared the results of its trial scheme conducted earlier at the DSD facility.
