Ming Pao interviewed Engineer, Ms Veda TSANG Wai-ching, on 30 September 2024, about DSD's thematic manhole covers installed in various districts.
In the interview, Ms Tsang introduced various designs of thematic manhole covers and explained the casting process. She emphasized that these manhole covers feature unique line patterns and surface textures that reflect the characteristics of individual districts, while also adhering to strict anti-slip requirements. Additionally, she noted that the production time for thematic manhole covers is longer than for conventional ones due to the complexity of creating new molds and applying colored resins to the surfaces.
