DSD Summer Internship Programme 2024

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) organized the “Summer Internship Programme 2024” (Programme) in July and August 2024.  There were altogether 28 students of different universities/institutes joined the Programme, who received practical training in various Divisions/Units of the Department on tasks related to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in condition survey for plant buildings, operations and maintenance of drainage facilities, chemical testing, structural design, project planning, site supervisions, enhancement of computer systems, etc., so as to understand the services of the DSD and the contributions to the society.

The Programme was concluded with presentations of summer interns' individual work cum souvenir award ceremony on 26 August 2024, attended by our Director, Deputy Director, Assistant Directors and DSD colleagues (the Programme supervisors) to show support for the interns. During the presentations, the interns shared both the experiences they had gained and their personal reflections over the training period.  Our Director also interacted with the interns, providing them with valuable insights that will greatly benefit their future studies and career opportunities. Some students expressed a strong desire to join the DSD after graduation, having been deeply inspired by the Programme.
