DAB Representatives Visited “Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel” Equipment Enclosure

On 19 July 2024, the Director of Drainage Services, Mr Ringo MOK Wing-cheong, led the LegCo member of DAB, Mr Stanley LI Sai-wing, together with Sai Kung and Sha Tin District Council members to visit the “Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel” Equipment Enclosure to gain a deeper understanding of the operation of the “Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel” and exchange views with each other. The DSD representatives introduced the flood prevention works of the DSD to the LegCo and DC Members, elaborating on how new technologies are adopted to monitor drainage or blockage situations, as well as sharing the strategies of coping with extreme weather and flood risks in low-lying areas in order to minimise flood risks.
