DSD was awarded the “Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Collaboration”(Gold) Award under the “Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme”

The Drainage Services Department Volunteer Team (DSDVT), together with The Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, were awarded the "Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Collaboration" (Gold) award under the Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme (CIVAS) this year, for the "Care Food education video production" service.
Furthermore, the "i-Care visit to elderly living alone" service organised by DSDVT and other works department volunteer teams and Caritas Mok Cheung Sui Kun Community Centre was awarded the "Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Collaboration" (Merit) award.
Our Mainland North Division's service "Peering with the Children – Visit to Ha Mei" was also selected for "Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Project" (Merit) award.
Besides, six DSD colleagues achieved individual service hours and were awarded certification of Construction Industry Sports and Volunteering Programme (CISVP) Volunteer Recognition. The results are encouraging.
The Construction Industry Sports and Volunteering Programme launched the CIVAS in 2017 with an aim to recognising contributions from construction practitioners to society and to cultivating a caring culture amongst them. 54 construction-related organisations, including government departments, developers, contractors, sub-contractors, labour unions and industry volunteer groups, as well as 17 NGOs have participated in CIVAS this year.
