DSD Participated in the New Territories Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Day 2024

The Drainage Services Department participated in the "New Territories Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Day 2024" organised by the Fire Services Department on 26 May 2024. The event aimed to enhance the public's awareness of disaster prevention and emergency preparedness capabilities.

On the day of the event, the DSD set up an exhibition and game booth at Sha Tin Park, and showcased "Drainage Improvement Works in Sha Tin", "Overall Flood Prevention Strategy of Hong Kong" and "Hydrometric Information System for Smart Drainage Management and Preventive Flood Control" to promote knowledge of the drainage improvement works and drainage systems to the public. Proposed underground stormwater storage tank and pump house in Sha Tin Park, "Three-pronged flood prevention strategy" as well as the 3 modes of the "Smart Flooding Warning System" were also presented to the public through display panels and helpers' briefing at the DSD's booth.
