DSD Site Safety Forum 2024 cum Construction Sites Safety and Housekeeping Award Presentation Ceremony

DSD Site Safety Forum 2024 cum Construction Sites Safety and Housekeeping Award Presentation Ceremony was successfully held on 14 May at the Y-Theatre, Youth Square, Chai Wan. Ir Prof. Thomas HO, the Chairman of the Construction Industry Council and one of the VIPs, Dr Winson YEUNG, the Principal Consultant of Occupational Safety and Health Council delivered their speech and presentation in the Forum, for enhancing the site safety and housekeeping awareness of DSD's inhouse staff, contractors and site supervisory teams, as well as awards were given to recognize DSD's contractors and site supervisory teams having outstanding performance in sites safety and housekeeping performance in the past year.

A total of 57 contract teams participated under the Scheme (2023) and amongst them 12 contract teams either won "The Best Construction Sites Safety and Housekeeping Award" or the "Meritorious Award", which were presented by the Director of Drainage Services, the Deputy Director of Drainages Services, and the Assistant Directors respectively.

The Director of Drainage Services, Mr MOK Wing-cheong, in the speech remarked that DSD has been actively applying innovative technologies to promote site safety and work efficiency. He also emphasized that we can, against all odds, provide a better and safer environment in future for the Hong Kong's construction industry through working hand in hand.

The "Grand Award" of the Scheme (2023) goes to the Contractor and Site Supervisory Team for the Contract No. DC/2020/02 - "Construction of San Shek Wan Sewage Treatment Works, Associated Submarine Outfall and Pui O Sewage works", who are Kwan Lee Holding Limited/Chun Wo Construction and Engineering Company Limited Joint Venture and Binnies Hong Kong Limited respectively.

We once again congratulate all winning teams and thank them for their contributions in upkeeping the safety and housekeeping of DSD's sites and look forward to seeing their continual support and participation in the Scheme.
