Drainage Services Department Supported the HK Walls x Community Creation Activity for the Life Education Community Promotion Program " Walk Together, Create Together "

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) supported the HK Walls x Community activity, a part of the Life Education Community Promotion Program "Walk Together, Create Together" , organised by the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council. The DSD opened partial exterior walls of its facilities in Kai Tak, Tin Shui Wai, and Pak Shek Kok for the participating youth to create murals from 5 November to 30 December 2023. The programme aimed to engage youngsters in community participation, and encourage them to design creative solutions for communities in need in order to foster youngsters’ empathy, self-confidence, and resilience. In addition to providing a platform for young people to showcase their talents, the activity also added an artistic atmosphere to the community and integrated the DSD’s facilities into the community.

The mural "Dragon City's Diverse Life Values" was located on the partial exterior wall of Kai Tak No. 4 Dry Weather Flow Interceptor. The mural depicted five young people of different ethnicities gathering and communicating against the backdrop of Kowloon City streets and a chessboard, presenting a beautiful vision of community and life

The mural "Life's Treasures in the Locker" was located on the partial exterior wall of Tin Shui Wai Tin Wah Road Sewage Pumping Station. The mural adopted the theme of "lockers," with crowded items inside reflecting the sense of overcrowding experienced by young people when visiting subdivided flats
