TVB News and Now TV Interviewed the DSD on the Landscaped Deck of the Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station

TVB News and Now TV programme “Metropolitan Blueprint” interviewed DSD Engineer, Mr John MUI Chi-kin, on the enhancement works for the Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station (KTSPS) and the features of its landscaped deck on 7 and 14 September 2023 respectively.
In the interview, Mr MUI explained that in order to cater for the future development of the Kwun Tong area, the DSD implemented enhancement works for the KTSPS to increase the sewage treatment capacity. Mr MUI said that to implement the "single site, multiple use" initiative, the DSD developed the roof floor of the KTSPS into a landscaped deck, which joined with the adjacent waterfront area to form the 1.8-hectare Cha Kwo Ling Promenade. A pavilion, landscaped areas, lawns, children's play facilities, fitness equipment and more were available at the promenade. He added that the landscaped deck broke the mould and showcased to the public that sewage and leisure facilities were able to coexist in the neighbourhood.
