TVB interviewed DSD on project design and implementation

DSD senior engineers Mr Antony, WAN Nam-fung, and Ms Doris, CHOI Man-yee shared their insights and experiences on project design and implementation in the field of engineering during the interviews by TVB’s programme “Design for Future” on 23 and 24 March 2023.
Mr WAN shared that he is currently responsible for the project of Revitalization of Tsui Ping River. He mentioned that in the past, he was involved in railway engineering projects that focused more on functionality. He added that the project item of Revitalization of Tsui Ping River incorporates a diversified range of elements to construct flood prevention facilities and promote connections between people. This has brought him a great sense of fulfillment.
Ms CHOI, on the other hand, is responsible for the Enhancement Works for Kwun Tong Sewage Pumping Station. She mentioned that apart from functioning as a sewage facility, the pump station also features a landscaped deck on its roof, allowing for multiple uses. During the design of the deck’s facilities, the project team actively engaged in communication with the public and listened to their opinions. The design of the landscaped deck can be seen as a culmination of ideas from the construction industry and the public.
