DSD won the Championship in “Community / Union” Category of the 10th Regional Safety Quiz

The DSD’s “E&M Safety Team” performed excellently in the 10th Guangdong-Hong Kong SAR-Macau SAR Regional Safety Quiz held in Hong Kong on 19 October 2023. The team not only won the prestigious Champion title but also received the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Top Sales award in the "Community/Union" category.
Following the team’s victory in the local Safety Quiz 2022, an event co-organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) and Labour Department in September 2022, the team was nominated to become one of the two Hong Kong representatives in the 10th Regional Safety Quiz.
Competing against five other champion teams from the Guangdong province, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, DSD’s “E&M Safety Team” remained focused and nimble-minded, thanks to team members’ diligent preparations and effort. In the decisive final buzzer round, the competition intensified but “E&M Safety Team” scores skyrocketed to first place, ultimately leading the team to clinch the Champion title in the "Community/Union" category.
This victory is of significant importance as it marks the first time in the competition’s history that a Hong Kong team has secured the championship in this category since its first competition in 1993. Additionally, the team's all-rounded and vivid performance in the competition’s OSH Sales session contributed to the success of garnering the OSH Top Sales award.
The "Regional Safety Quiz" is a biennial event that rotates between the Department of Emergency Management of the Guangdong Province, the OSHC of Hong Kong, and the Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR, with each hosting the event in their respective regions. Beyond raising awareness about OSH, the quiz aims to foster exchanges and cooperation in regional OSH promotion work.
DSD places OSH as its top priority, and its participation in the safety quiz has not only enhanced colleagues' knowledge of OSH but also inspired them to adopt a more proactive approach in achieving OSH goals. This achievement showcases DSD's unwavering commitment to promoting a safe and healthy working environment and highlights its dedication to excellence in occupational safety and health.
