DSD awarded Contract No. DC/2022/10 “Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns – Upstream Sewerage Works – Main Works”

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) signed a works contract of about $518 million with China International Water & Electric Corporation on 23 August 2023. The works include the construction of a new Intermediate Sewage Pumping Station (ISPS); construction of about 550 meters (m) of twin 1200 mm diameter rising mains from ISPS; rehabilitation of about 330 m of the existing twin 1200 mm diameter rising mains from Ma On Shan Sewage Pumping Station; construction of about 80 m of 800 mm diameter rising main from Sha Tin Main Sewage Pumping Station; landscape enhancement works for three sewage pumping stations currently serving the Sha Tin area; and other ancillary works etc. This 49-month works contract commenced on 21 August 2023.
