DSD awarded Contract No. DC/2022/03 “Yuen Long Barrage and Nullah Improvement Schemes”

The Drainage Services Department signed a works contract of about $3,003 million with China State – Alchmex JV on 2 June 2023. The works include provision of a barrage scheme in Yuen Long including the construction of an automatic flood barrier, a stormwater pumping station, a master control centre and the associated electrical and mechanical facilities in the Yuen Long Nullah; modification of the Yuen Long Nullah and drainage improvement works at the intersection of the Yuen Long Nullah and the Yuen Long Bypass Floodway; improvement of flood walls along the Kam Tin River and construction of flood walls along the Yuen Long Nullah and the Sham Chung River; revitalisation of the Yuen Long Nullah between the Shap Pat Heung Road and the location of the barrage; construction of a dry weather flow (DWF) interception system including a pumping station for water quality improvement and ancillary works. This 53-month works contract commenced on 29 May 2023.
