Kowloon City No. 1 Sewage Pumping Station Open Day 2022

Giant Drainy is coming to town! In this winter, Giant Drainy will take a colorful air balloon ride to Kowloon City No. 1 Sewage Pumping Station to meet everyone.
To celebrate Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's 25th anniversary, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) will hold the Kowloon City No. 1 Sewage Pumping Station Open Day 2022 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on 17 and 18 December 2022 (Saturday and Sunday) for the public to experience the urban oasis design concept in Kowloon City No. 1 Sewage Pumping Station as well as to know more about operation of a sewage pumping station.
At that time, the public can visit Kowloon City No. 1 Sewage Pumping Station located near the Kai Tak development area. The wall of the pumping station is covered with vertical greening, and there are green infrastructures such as a quiet and beautiful green roof and water cascade, which are naturally integrated into the buildings and landscapes in the Kai Tak development area. The pumping station enriches the urban ecology and adds vitality to the dull urban environment, like an urban oasis!
Video display, panel and model exhibitions as well as several of DSD KOL "Drainy" photo booths are set up in the Open Day. Visitors will have a deeper understanding of the DSD's works and also learn the importance of renewable energy and sustainable development. "Drainy" will show up in a surprise and take photos with everyone. The visitors may also have a chance to get the exclusive souvenirs. Welcome to join us!
Activities at the Open Days are free of charge. Visitors can get there by free shuttle bus from Kai Tak / Diamond Hill*. The shuttle bus service is available on a first-come, first-served basis; please register through the link in advance: https://dsd-spsopenday.com

*Since there are no pedestrian crossing facilities leading to the site, free shuttle bus service will be provided for registered participants. Limited quotas on first-come first-served basis. No public parking will be provided.
