Butterfly Valley Road Pet Garden Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel Open Day 2022

Celebrating Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's 25th anniversary, the Drainage Services Department (DSD) will hold the Butterfly Valley Road Pet Garden Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel Open Day on 12 and 13 November 2022 (Saturday and Sunday) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm for the public to learn more about DSD's services on flood prevention and DSD's contribution in Hong Kong's sustainable development.

The public can join the guided tour specially designed for the Open Day during which DSD staff will introduce the Lai Chi Kok Drainage Tunnel and participants will have the opportunity to look at the intake shaft of the 45m depth main tunnel besides learning more DSD's flood prevention works. E-certificate will be provided to participants who completed the guided tour. 

DSD has also invited the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to provide pets care seminar and pet wellness checks for pre-registered dogs during the Open Days. There will also thematic exhibitions, workshop and game booths to enhance the public's understanding of the DSD's continual efforts in flood prevention, sewage treatment, and combating and mitigating climate change. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take photo with the DSD's KOL "Drainy" on the spot and join the Drainy souvenirs DIY workshop.

Activities at the Open Days are free of charge. Visitors can walk to Butterfly Valley Road Pet Garden from the Exit C of Lai Chi Kok MTR Station (approx. 5-min. walk) or get there by free shuttle bus from Mei Foo MTR Station / Sham Shing Road at Cheung Sha Wan*.

*Visitor with pets shall arrange for their own transportation to/from the venue and follow the instructions from the on-site staff. For safety reason, pets must be kept on a leash or put in a pet bag all the times. Apology for any inconvenience caused.
