DSD awarded Contract No. DC/2020/05 "Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns - Main Caverns Construction"

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) signed a works contract of about $4,221 million with China State - Alchmex Joint Venture on 27 July 2021. The works include construction of a main caverns complex at Nui Po Shan of about 14 hectares, a secondary access tunnel, a ventilation shaft and a ventilation adit, as well as site formation works at portal areas, construction of effluent discharge pipes and other related works. This 67-month works contract commenced on July 2021.

The contract signing ceremony was held in the Community Liaison Centre (CLC) of the Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns Project. The Director of Drainage Services and the representatives of Contractor applied the DSD KOL Drainy's seals to mark the occasion, and conducted tree planting ceremony signifying the commencement of Stage 2 Works and smooth implementation of the Project.
