DSD was awarded three New Engineering Contract Awards

DSD strives to implement New Engineering Contract (NEC) through achieving collaborative partnerships.  Following receipt of Client of the Year in 2019, DSD again got encouraging results, three New Engineering Contract Awards, awarded by the United Kingdom's (UK) NEC User’s Group.

This year, DSD Contracts DC/2017/01 “Construction of Dry Weather Flow Interceptor at Cherry Street Box Culvert” won the  NEC Water Contract of the Year 2020, with DC/2018/03 “Expansion of Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works Phase 1 and Village Sewerage in Tong To” also awarded the “Highly Commended #1” prize of the same group. Meanwhile, the “Expansion of Sha Tau Kok Sewage Treatment Works Phase 1 and Village Sewerage in Tong To” project actively implemented different pilot initiatives, including the digital works supervision system, contributed to the winning the “Highly Commended #1” of NEC Contract Innovation Award 2020. 

The NEC Awards were established by the UKNEC Users' Group to recognise excellence in project delivery and showcase examples of good practice though collaboration from across the world.  There are six categories of awards, namely Transport Contract of the Year, Water Contract of the Year, Building of the Year, Client of the Year, Contractor of the Year and Contract Innovation award. The Water Contract of the Year award aims to commend the project that has practice collaboration in the project and the Contract Innovation Awards aims to recognize projects that demonstrate innovation through use of key performance indicators, Scope/Works Information/Service Information or additional clause drafting.

DSD’s remarkable achievement showcased the mutual trust, collaboration and innovative spirts among the Government, Consultants and Contractor.
