DSD participated in the Hong Kong 2020 International Urban Forestry Conference

16 January 2020

The first-ever international conference on urban forestry organised by the Development Bureau (DEVB), the Hong Kong 2020 International Urban Forestry Conference, was held on 16 and 17 January.  Under the theme of “Challenges and Opportunities of Urban Greening in High-density Cities”, the conference attracted participation of over 600 professionals and students.  To let the overseas experts have a better understanding on Hong Kong’s work on developing the “Rivers in the City”, DSD guided a field trip to Kai Tak River and Kowloon City No. 1 Sewage Pumping Station (KCSPS No.1) on 17 January.

During the field trip, DSD Landscape Architect Mr Peter LAM Chun-fung introduced background, challenges and river revitalization concepts of Kai Tak River Improvement Works to the experts and scholars.  After that, Electrical and Mechanical Engineer Mr Harris HUNG Tsz-on explained green building features adopted by DSD at KCSPS No.1.
