Media Interviewed DSD on Ecological Enhancement Works Site Trials

On 23 January 2020, Apple Daily, Oriental Daily, Sing Tao Daily and Ta Kung Pao conducted an interview with DSD Engineer, Ms Maggie YIP Pui-kei about the completed Site Trials on Ecological Enhancement Works.
During the interview, Ms Yip and Mr Onyx WAI, Professor of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, explained the Eco-Hydraulic Study conducted at Hung Shui Kiu Nullah. After that, Ms Yip introduced ecological enhancement elements in site trials at Lower Lam Tsuen River, including replacement of the reinforced concrete riverbed by a rip-rap base, construction of shallow shoals and wooden poles, which are habitats for birds.
