DSD was awarded the“Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Project” (Gold) Award under the “Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme”

The “i-connect” Elderly Volunteer Service organised by the Drainage Services Department Volunteer Team (DSDVT) was awarded the “Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteering Project” (Gold) award under the “Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme” this year. Besides, six DSD colleagues achieved individual service hours and were awarded certification of Construction Industry Sports and Volunteering Programme (CISVP) Volunteer Recognition. Amongst the awardees, Mr NG Tin-chi, Ivan of Project Management Division obtained the “Excellence in Construction Industry Volunteer” (Bronze) award. The results are encouraging. Director of Drainage Services, Mr LO Kwok-wah, Kelvin and Deputy Director of Drainage Services, Mr MAK Ka-wai attended the award presentation ceremony held on 14 July, to show their support.

The Construction Industry Sports and Volunteering Programme launched the “Construction Industry Volunteer Award Scheme” (CIVAS) in 2017 with an aim to recognising contributions from construction practitioners to society and to cultivating a caring culture amongst them. 40 construction-related organisations, including government departments, developers, contractors, sub-contractors, labour unions and industry volunteer groups, as well as 17 NGOs have participated in CIVAS this year.
