DSD awarded Agreement No. CE 47/2013 (DS) “Upgrading of Kwun Tong Preliminary Treatment Works – Investigation, Design and Construction

2 April 2014

The Drainage Services Department (DSD) signed a $14.3 million consultancy agreement on 2 April 2014 with Black & Veatch Hong Kong Limited to undertake the investigation, design and construction supervision for upgrading of Kwun Tong Preliminary Treatment Works (KTPTW).

To cope with the forecast increase in sewage flow from the new developments in East Kowloon, Kai Tak and Anderson Road, the existing KTPTW needs to be upgraded to increase its treatment capacity. The upgrading works also include provision of additional greening features in KTPTW to improve the environment.  The consultancy agreement is expected to take about 100 months to complete.
